A man was arrested in connection with the shooting death of a teenager in a Cherry Hill motel parking lot, the Camden County Prosecutor's Office announced.

Kevin Fentress, 21, of Burlington County was apprehended around 11:30 a.m. on Friday in Marietta, Georgia. He was found by members of the Camden Division of the U.S. Marshals Service Regional Fugitive Task Force and the Atlanta Division of the Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force an acquaintance’s residence.

Authorities say Fentress was taken into custody for the murder of 17-year-old Jadyre Gordon.

The incident occurred around 2:30 a.m. on February 28 outside the Inn of the Dove, located at 725 Cuthbert Boulevard in Cherry Hill, N.J.

Police say Gordon and another victim were shot while sitting in a vehicle outside the motel. The shooting took place following a fight at a party in one of the motel rooms.

Gordon was rushed to Cooper University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The other victim, an unidentified 20-year-old man, was sent to Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital and later released.

Fentress is being held in Georgia and awaiting extradition to New Jersey.
