Random Eagles notes: Super Bowl rings, roster spot now open, no joint practices in 2018, and more

There were a few smaller Philadelphia Eagles news items this week that probably weren't worth their own individual posts, but we'll just round them all up here, and provide our quick thoughts on each.

Players will get their Super Bowl rings Thursday night

Eagles players will add to their bling collections Thursday night, when they receive their Super Bowl rings. I liked this idea by the Eagles' social media staff (Alex Smith, probably), in which players tried to draw what they think their rings will look like.

Rasul Douglas and Corey Clement are terrible artists.

Eagles opened up a roster spot

On Wednesday, the Eagles placed LB Paul Worrilow on injured reserve after he tore his ACL a few weeks ago. That'll open up a roster spot. We've speculated for a while now that Corey Graham might be more inclined to sign with the team once mandatory minicamp wrapped up, and his participation wouldn't be required. I would imagine Graham will be in town to collect his Super Bowl ring. We'll see if something gets done there.

No joint practices

The Eagles had held joint practices with the Miami Dolphins in 2017, and in previous years with the New England Patriots (twice), and the Baltimore Ravens. On Wednesday, Doug Pederson said that the Eagles will not be holding joint practices with any other teams this year. The logical candidates would have been the Cleveland Browns and the Patriots.

The following was the back-and-forth between a reporter and Pederson on the topic. Pederson did not seem to want to talk about it.

Q. Any joint practices this year, Doug?

Q. What's the reasons behind that?

Q. Do you want more of a controlled environment, especially with QB Carson Wentz coming back?

DOUG PEDERSON: I don't think it's an every-year thing. I think last year it was great for us. It was a great change up for us to go against Miami. Sometimes it just doesn't work out. Teams are already booked. Teams are already full. Teams are doing other things. For us, it's just let's just get better as a team.

As of now, the Patriots are not "booked" with any joint practices, sooooo... ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Personally, if I were the Eagles, I would want no part of heading up to New England, where I'd have to worry about the Patriots cheating in some way. Because as we all know, and history has repeatedly documented, the Patriots are cheating cheaters.

New head athletic trainer announced

The Eagles announced that they named former Tennessee Titans assistant athletic trainer Jerome Reid as head athletic trainer. Former Eagles head athletic trainer Chris Peduzzi stepped down from that spot back in February.
