The 29th Annual AIDS Walk Philadelphia returns Sunday, Oct. 18 and there is still plenty of time to sign up. The walk supports the AIDS Fund, which also supports local partner organizations to increase HIV/AIDS prevention education, counseling, testing and other resources in the area.

This rain-or-shine 5K event is open to both runners and walkers. AIDS Walk suggests that each participant raises at least $50 for the event (which gets you a T-shirt, too), though the fundraising minimum is only required for runners. There are over 30,000 people in the Philadelphia area living with HIV, and every dollar counts.

The walk will begin at Eakins Oval. Participants can register as individual or as teams, and registrants create fundraising pages to encourage others to donate for their walk. So far, participants have raised thousands of dollars for AIDS Fund.
