Fetterman's I-95 billboards calling Oz a Cowboys fan are the latest barbs in a Senate race that's hit peak absurdity

In Pennsylvania's race for U.S. Senate, John Fetterman and Mehmet Oz have been trading barbs in one of the dirtiest campaign clashes in recent memory. Fetterman, the state's Democratic lieutenant governor, has put two billboards on Interstate 95 near Lincoln Financial Field, the home of the Philadelphia Eagles, that call his opponent a fan of the hated rival Dallas Cowboys, who come to town Sunday night.

Argument at wedding ends with man driving car into creek on Pennsylvania golf course

After a husband and wife got into an argument during a wedding at Glenmaura National Golf Club, in Moosic, Pennsylvania, the man drove his car onto the golf course and got it stuck in the Covey Swamp Creek near the 17th hole. Police were called to the scene, but since the man was not drunk and no damage was done to the course, there were no charges filed. A photo of the car stuck in the creek has made its way around social media in recent days.

Bake'N Bacon food truck owner to take over Devil's Den storefront in South Philly

Bake'N Bacon, a popular food truck in the Philadelphia area, will take over the storefront of Devil's Den, the popular South Philly gastropub that's closing after a 14-year run. The bacon-centric restaurant will be led by Justin Coleman, who launched his food truck in 2019. The space at 1148-50 S. 11th St. will be his first brick-and-mortar restaurant, and it will have a full liquor license. Bake'N Bacon is set to open some time in December or January.

The Phillies released a hype video on Friday morning to get fans ready for postseason action.

Burglar broke into South Philly home and sexually assaulted teen, police say

Philadelphia police are searching for a man who broke into a South Philadelphia home on Sept. 21, sexually assaulted a 15-year-old girl and stole her wallet. The incident happened at a home on the 2500 block of South Third Street. Investigators released surveillance video of the suspect this week and have asked the public for assistance in identifying him.

Chester County turkey farm among Pennsylvania facilities where some workers are charged with animal abuse

Eleven former employees of farms in central and southeastern Pennsylvania, including facilities in Chester County, have been charged with animal cruelty for allegedly kicking, throwing and stomping on turkeys at facilities owned by Plainville Farms, a regional supplier for grocery stores. The alleged abuses was exposed by PETA, which sent an undercover investigator to film at Chester County farms in West Sadsbury and West Fallowfield.

Traffic deaths fell in Philly last year, but crashes and serious injuries rose, Vision Zero report shows

Philadelphia recorded fewer traffic deaths last year, but the number of crashes and serious injuries increased from 2021, according to the latest annual Vision Zero report. In 2017, Philly made a Vision Zero commitment to eliminate traffic fatalities. The city has focused on roadway improvements, expanded bike infrastructure and efforts to reduce speeding on dangerous corridors.

Philadelphia apologizes for 'deplorable' history of medical experiments on Holmesburg Prison inmates

The city of Philadelphia apologized on Thursday for the history of medical experiments done on inmates at Holmesburg Prison from 1951-1974. The experiments were led by University of Pennsylvania dermatology professor Albert Kligman who saw the predominantly Black prison population as a low-risk and plentiful pool of test subjects for a range of chemical compounds.

Police release photos of three more suspects in Roxborough High School shootings

Video and photos of three of the six suspects wanted in connected with the Sept. 27 shooting outside Roxborough High School were released by Philadelphia police on Wednesday. Nicholas Elizalde, 14, was killed by the gunfire and four other teens were injured. An arrest warrant has been issued for 16-year-old Dayron Burney-Thorne. The three masked suspects shown at a gas station in the new surveillance video have not been identified.

Warrant issued for 16-year-old in connection with Roxborough High School shooting

Dayron Burney-Thorne, 16, is sought for murder and related offenses for the shootings that killed Roxborough High School football player Nicholas Elizalde after practice on Tuesday, Sept. 27. Investigators are looking for five shooters and sixth person who was the getaway driver.
