Fink's Hoagies, a popular shop in Northeast Philadelphia, has been cleared to reopen by the Philadelphia Department of Public Health after the restaurant was cited and fined for violating the city's COVID-19 protocols. Owner Dennis Fink said the city's enforcement of the policies amounted to a "shakedown" of his restaurant.

U.S. Capitol Police officer Brian D. Sicknick died Wednesday after physically engaging with rioters in Washington, D.C., on Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2021. Sicknick, from East Brunswick, New Jersey, was a veteran who joined the USCP in 2008. Authorities are investigation Sicknick's death as a homicide.

And in Chester County, a Pennsylvania Lottery scratch-off ticket worth $3 million was sold this week at a gas station in Thorndale. The current Powerball jackpot has climbed to $470 million ahead of the next drawing on Saturday, Jan. 9, 2021.

Maryland fisherman Joshua Dixon, 34, caught a 57-pound, 50-inch long flathead catfish on Dec. 27 near the Lapidium Boat Ramp on the Susquehanna River. The catch topped two fish caught in Pennsylvania over the last two years as Dixon became the first state record holder for the invasive catfish.
