U.S. Rep. Donald Norcross defeats GOP challenger Claire Gustafson in N.J.'s 1st District

In New Jersey's 1st Congressional District, incumbent Democrat Donald Norcross won re-election against Republican challenger Claire Gustafson on Tuesday. The Associated Press called the race for Norcross a little after 10 p.m., with the incumbent congressman earning over 64% of the vote and a fourth term in Washington, D.C.

Election monitors from the Civil Rights Division of the U.S. Department of Justice will be in Philadelphia on Nov. 3 to ensure compliances with the Voting Rights Act and to receive complaints about potential violations at polling places. The Philadelphia District Attorney's Office also will have an Election Task Force to to monitor Tuesday's election.

PREIT, the owner of Fashion District Philadelphia, the Willow Grove Mall, Plymouth Meeting Mall and Cherry Hill Mall has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy as part of a financial restructuring plan, the owners said. Malls have been under heavy financial strain during the coronavirus pandemic.

Reyes spent more than four years in Philadelphia. Her husband, Robert Burton, is a morning news anchor for WJLA, the ABC affiliate in Washington, where Reyes also previously worked.
