Vice-presidential candidate Tim Kaine will return to Southeastern Pennsylvania on Wednesday to stress the importance of voting for the entire Democratic ticket topped by Hillary Clinton.
The Virginia senator will appear at Linksz Pavilion on the Newtown campus of Bucks County Community College. Kaine is scheduled to speak at 2 p.m. Doors open at noon.
Kaine will highlight the need to elect Democrats up and down the ballot, according to the Clinton campaign. With Clinton pulling ahead of Republican Donald Trump in national polls, Democrats are focusing on downballot races like the uber-competitive Pennsylvania Senate contest between Republican Pat Toomey and Democrat Katie McGinty.
The event will mark Kaine's second visit to the Philadelphia region in less than a week. He joined Clinton on Saturday for a campaign event at the University of Pennsylvania. Kaine also campaigned at a Philadelphia sheet metal workers union hall in early October.
