LeBron James and Jaylen Brown, unbelievably, are Sixers teammates.
LeBron James and Jaylen Brown will make their home debuts as members of the Sixers on Oct. 22, playing host to the Cleveland Cavaliers.
This will be the second of what will almost certainly be the maximum 34 games for the Sixers broadcasted by one of the NBA's national television partners; the Sixers will be on the league's three-game opening night slate as well. The full schedule for the 2026-27 NBA season will be revealed on Thursday afternoon; the expectation is that the Sixers will be included in every marquee date on the league's calendar, and they have already had a Christmas Day game announced.
The Sixers' star-studded starting lineup of James, Brown, Joel Embiid, Tyrese Maxey and VJ Edgecombe makes the team arguably the league's most significant national attraction entering the season, as the group looks to establish itself as a powerhouse within an Eastern Conference as loaded as ever.
Of course, James was at times considered likely to sign with his hometown team this offseason, but spurned the Cavaliers – among other teams – when deciding to come to Philadelphia. Cleveland will get a close look at James on his new team very early on.
