The 2026-27 Sixers are going to face plenty of early tests.

The Sixers will kick off the 2026 NBA Cup Group Play schedule when they host the New York Knicks on Oct. 30, Amazon Prime announced on Wednesday morning.

This means the Sixers will get two cracks at the defending champions before the end of October, as they will be at Madison Square Garden to kick off their season on Oct. 20.

The Sixers' complete four-game schedule for NBA Cup Group Play will be unveiled later on Wednesday, with matchups against the Cleveland Cavaliers, Indiana Pacers and Miami Heat all on tap in addition to this high-profile showdown on Oct. 30.

While the Sixers would love to finally emerge from Group Play and advance to the Knockout Rounds – they have failed to do so in all three seasons of the NBA Cup's existence – they will not be handed anything in what is shaping up to be a brutally competitive Eastern Conference Group B.
