The Philadelphia Zoo has brought in a flamboyance of 14 African greater flamingos. The birds will be housed in a newly renovated area that opens to the public Saturday. They will join the 10 Caribbean flamingos that were already at the zoo. African greater flamingos can be distinguished by their slightly paler coloration.

Philadelphia to begin opening its public swimming pools Friday

Philadelphia is opening its public swimming pools on a rolling basis in 2025. The first two — Hunting Park Pool and Kelly Pool — open Friday, June 13. Nineteen will open by June 22. Others will follow.
