Survey: Chick-fil-A, Cracker Barrel named favorite restaurants in United States

Americans have weighed in on their favorite restaurants.

The American Customer Satisfaction Index (ACSI) released Tuesday, a survey that revealed Chick-fil-A as the top fast-food restaurant in America and Cracker Barrel as the full-service eatery.

While price has always been a key factor in customer satisfaction for fast food, businesses that shifted toward quality ingredients saw a significant increase in satisfaction.

Chick-fil-A received a score of 87 on a scale of 0-100 to lead all fast-food joints for the second straight year.

“Higher quality drives the improving scores for the industry, but quality issues relating to food-borne illnesses knock down Chipotle,” says ACSI Managing Director David VanAmburg.

Papa John's (82) took over the second spot from Chipotle (78), which saw the biggest decrease from last year's rankings.

Little Ceasars (81) enjoyed the biggest boost with a 9-point jump to tie with Panera Bread in third place.

In the full-service category, Cracker Barrel (83) jumped over Texas Roadhouse (82) to take first place.

LongHorn Steakhouse (82) also tied for second place.

The report was based on 4,786 customer surveys conducted in March.
