Nick Piccone is a Pro Wrestling Contributor for PhillyVoice.com. Nick was the founder of the popular sports and pro wrestling blog Bleed Philly before joining Philly Influencer as Editor and Writer in 2015. He's hosted a weekly pro wrestling podcast with Vaughn Johnson, The Straight Shooters, since 2015. Nick also does editing, writing, and audio engineering for the only sports betting radio station in Philadelphia, Fox Sports Radio The Gambler. Nick graduated from nearby Neumann University after growing up in south Philadelphia and southern New Jersey. His family history is entrenched in Philadelphia culture, as Nick's great aunt Dolly's house was used as Rocky's and Adrian's new home in Rocky II. WWE SmackDown rundown: Ambrose goes home, sends clear message to Lesnar

On the heels of news breaking that Sting was retiring from WWE officially at his Hall of Fame induction ceremony in Dallas on April 2nd, WWE aired SmackDown from Cincinnati’s U.S. Bank Arena. The hometown of Dean Ambrose played an important role in his day and night, which was pretty cool to see. WWE doesn’t usually hype their wrestlers’ hometowns often, but Ambrose was out celebrating the holiday, so I guess an exception was made because of that.

According to a report from TMZ Sports, wrestling legend and soon-to-be WWE Hall of Famer, Sting, is set to retire from the ring due to a neck injury he received in a match against Seth Rollins last September at WWE Night of Champions.

WWE Roadblock review: Ambrose comes close, but Triple H retains title

WWE is on the Road to WrestleMania, but Saturday night in Toronto, Ont., there was a huge Roadblock in the way (That’s exactly the reason WWE changed the name of the event from March to WrestleMania to Roadblock, just so I could say that). Triple H defended his WWE World Heavyweight Championship against the Lunatic Fringe, Dean Ambrose, in a match in which the outcome could completely change the landscape of WrestleMania on April 3rd.
